Warm Shop Classes 
Mosaic Mirrors

In this class, students will make fused components to put into their mosaic mirrors. Students will create one 12"x12" mirror frame for an 8"x8" mirror. We will teach you how to cut glass, basic flat glass techniques, and grouting methods for your custom mirror. All supplies are included. Good for ages 9 and up. This class is good for 4-10 beginner/intermediate students.

Create an elegant table fountain in just 3 days! Water will cascade over a flat piece of fused glass designed by you into a pot that you mosaic!! Students will learn basic glass cutting and mosaic techniques and create a fountain that people will marvel at! Your water pump and fountain hardware is included in the class materials fee.
Fused Glass Wind Chimes

This two day class will focus on making one-of-a-kind wind chimes! Students will create fused glass pieces and then assemble them into unique wind chimes. You will be astounded by your finished project! We will teach you how to cut glass and work with wire to finish your piece. All supplies are included. Good for ages 9 and up. This class is good for 4-10 beginner/intermediate students.
Mosaic Garden Stones

This class will teach basic mosaic skills so that you can create a custom garden stone to put in your yard, garden, or pool area. All supplies are included. Fused Glass Mirrors

Focus On Sconces

Photo Imaging on Glass

Create lasting memories with this amazing new technique. Using special transfer paper, your favorite photograph is actually kiln fired into glass for picture perfect finish!! You will need to bring 4-6 photos with you to class. We will have photo paper and sheet glass to purchase.
Stringer Art/Glass Tapestries

This class will include instruction in both our Warm Shop and our Flame Shop. Students will create amazing 3-D waves of colors by layering stringers with the opportunity to slump them into a mold. You will pull some of your own stringers (90 COE) and purchase more to create your pieces. You will make 2 projects: one 12x12 and one no bigger than 8x8.
The Drawing Studio Basic Line Drawing with Glass Workshop!

This 3-part class will teach students the basics of “drawing” in glass. During class one, students will learn the fundamentals of fusing sheet glass, including: basic glass cutting, firing temperatures, and composition techniques. On your 2nd class, you will learn how to “draw” with glass. You will make a mixture with glass powders to create an ink that you can use to create line drawings, portraits, landscapes, and anything else you can imagine. You will make a 6x6 flat line drawing piece during the second meeting. On your final class, you will combine the skills you have learned into a piece that we will slump into a final form of your choice. Bring your ideas and a sketch book. We hope that some of the pieces made during these workshops will be incorporated into an exhibit to be held at the Drawing Studio for the Glass Art Fiesta coming to Tucson in April 2011!!
Flame Shop Classes
Beginning Beadmaking

This one-day class will focus on using Moretti, a traditional Italian soft glass. After an overview of safety basics, students will move on to winding glass onto steel mandrels, basic beads, shaping, tool usage, color application and design. This is a great class to learn the essentials of beadmaking. No prior experience required.
Beadmaking with Bead Stringing

In this class, students will learn to make simple glass beads on a torch. Then, on the third day of class, students will use the beads they made to create a beautiful finished piece of jewelry. This class is good for ages 11 and up. We can accommodate up to 8 beginner/intermediate students.
Mushroom Pendants

This class will teach students to make clear pendants with a colorful glass mushroom inside! We will teach basic torch safety and then show techniques for making simple pendants you will be proud to wear! This class is good for ages 11 and up. Borosilicate 101

This beginning borosilicate class will introduce students to making small sculptural forms. The first class will focus on proper glass rotation, gathering glass, and simple color application. The second class will move into pendant making, focusing on the same skill set. Students should expect to make approximately 2-4 pieces in this 6 hour class. No experience necessary. 
Beginning Blowing

Beginning Blowing is designed for students who are interested in making hollow forms, such as: perfume vessels, small vases, and goblets. This class will teach the basics to get you started on the long journey of perfecting your rotation, control, and heat to make successful hollow objects. Students will work with borosilicate tubing and will focus on even rotation while making small forms. If you aspire to make elaborate hollow forms, this is the class that will get you going! No experience required.
