Introduction to Borosilicate Glass, April 6, 13 and 20

Dates: Mondays, April 6, 13 and 20, 5:30-8:30pm
Material fee: $30 (Please pay the instructor on the first day of class.)
No experience is required to take this class.

This class is for the beginning boro worker who wants to learn the craft of flame working or for a previous student who wants more time at the torch with instruction.

Intro to Boro is three classes, which comes out to nine hours of instruction!

In this class you will learn one handed rotation, two handed rotation and how to make a gather. You will also become proficient at making and using a punty. Learn how to stripe down color, how to ‘read the heat,’ how to create hot seals, and how to make small sculptures. You will also learn about special tools, and how to set up a studio in your own space.

Some projects may include: mushroom pendants, implosions pendants, sculptures, marbles and more.

Class Notes:
Material expenses are not included in the class price. Material fee is $30 for this class.

What to Wear:
Cotton or natural material tops and pants. Long pants are preferred. Closed-toe shoes. Hair pulled back. We have all of the tools you will need to start your journey with flame worked glass beads.

After your first class you are welcome and encouraged to sign up for practice time during our discounted open studio times on Wednesdays from 5-9pm,  Thursdays from 12-4pm or Sundays 12-4pm.
