Introduction to Sandcasting

This class will cover the fundamentals of casting hot glass in sand. Students will take premade or found objects, press them into olivine sand and fill the cavity with molten glass. Objects will be provided or feel free to bring your own.
Expect to leave this class with several glass pieces and the knowledge to begin exploring this unique process. There are no prerequisites to attend this course.
Session I: February 18 & 19, 2017 / Saturday & Sunday / 10AM-3PM
Session II: April 1 & 2, 2017 / Saturday & Sunday / 10AM-3PM
This class requires protective eye wear which will be provided by SGS (personal sunglasses or safety glasses are fine).
All students must wear close-toed shoes and cotton clothing is recommended.
You may bring your own forms or they will be provided.
