This consecutive 3-session, 9 hour class introduces you to melting soft glass with a torch to make beads.

You will begin by winding molten glass onto steel mandrels.  There are several ways to decorate the glass beads.  Some of which are using frit (crushed colored glass), stringers (pulled small for dots and lines) and rods (thicker glass).

You will be learning how to control the heat and how to use gravity (one of my favorite tools) along with using graphite tools.

Upon completion of one session, your skill level should enable you to work independently and practice what you are learning during our many open torch times throughout the week.

CLASS NOTES:
Material expenses are not included in the class price. Material fee is $15.00 for this class.
What to Wear:
Cotton or natural material tops and pants.  Long pants are preferred.   Close toe shoes.  Hair pulled back.  We have all of the tools you will need to start your journey with flame worked glass beads.
After your first class you are welcome to sign up for practice time during our discounted open studio times on Wednesdays from 5PM-9PM and  Thursdays from 12PM-4PM.
