Continuation of hollow form taught in Class I
(Prerequisite is Class I or instructor approval; must have pictures of work and ability to explain processes, and minimum 2 months experience on the torch doing hollow work)
• Applying clear over silver fume blanks to trap in the fuming by means of dots, wraps, wraps and rakes, and lines; creating even more contrast options and room for personalized creativity and unique expression
• Deeper dive into different colored rod options; brief explanation on how different colors are made, how they work, and the flames required to not bubble and work the colors correctly when applying them to blanks
• More advanced pipe shaping, going beyond the simple spoon pipe; learning about and adding marias, extending the carburetor, flattening the mouthpiece, applying bigger dots, layering of dots, horns, and different texturing techniques
• Based on pace of progression, student may learn one piece Sherlock pipe
Project materials/glass included, additional glass for color work is optional and will be available for sale.
