Boro Journey with Brian Jacobson Class 3: Intermediate

(December 5, 7, 12, 14) 5:30 to 9:30 PM

More complicated pipe shapes, multi piece pipe construction, learning 4 point weld, bracing, and more in-depth color theory and application techniques
(Prerequisite is Class I and II or instructor approval; must have pictures of work, ability to explain processes, and minimum 6 months of experience on the torch doing hollow work)

• Pulling from previous knowledge of last 2 courses and applying that knowledge to make a 1 or 2 piece Sherlock style pipe, hammer pipe, and/or sidecar
• Methods for welding together 2 pieces, including bracing and bridging techniques
• Working larger diameter clear glass and breaking down into blanks
• Silver fuming the inside of larger diameter clear blanks
• Based on progression of the class: striping color to completely cover clear blank and creating a custom-colored tube; then working the tube into different pipe shapes
• Based on progression of the class, introduction to coil pots and honeycomb patterning and applying to head of the pipe
