Flow Slabs (private class)

INSTRUCTOR: ALYSA PHIEL

 

Flow slabs are a new aesthetic component students can incorporate into “edge” projects, or projects that use pre-fired designs of thick glass strips set on their side and re-fired.

 

Learn how to create customized and intricate patterns through this method and how to achieve color combinations and reactive colors to create the desired finished product. This class also includes a demonstration on cutting and rebuilding the flow slabs.

 

Cold Shop Certification does not need to be completed prior to taking this class. However, certification will be required prior to being able to cold work  finish your components. Cold Shop Certification takes approximently 1 hour and costs $35.00. Scheduling can be arranged with Alysa.

IMPORTANT: Workshop cost includes fusing and slumping, use of tools, scrap glass, noodles, stringers, and firt. It does not include glass for the project. Glass is available for purchase in the Warm Shop, or Students may bring their own System 96 glass.

PREREQUISITE: BASIC GLASS CUTTING SKILLS and COLD SHOP CERTIFICATION (for completion)
