In this ten hour Saturday and Sunday class you will learn how to create functional glass using hollow borosilicate tubing. You will learn how to properly cut tubing, attach a blow tube, blow bubbles, make solid welds, constrict sections in tubing and create prep work. Color can be added to pieces if time allows.


This class will teach how to make chillums and spoons. Students are highly encouraged to bring a sketchbook.


Please bring a blow hose: 1/4″ hose; 6 feet long with swivel, mouth piece, and a 12mm adapter.


Borosilicate A: Introduction or instructor approval required to take this class. Ages 18 and over only.

Session II: April 8 & 9, 2017 / Saturday & Sunday / 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Feel free to bring a snack/lunch.
There is a $25 material fee for this class; payable on the first day of class.
This class requires protective eye wear which will be provided by SGS. All students must wear close-toed shoes and cotton clothing is recommended.
After your first class you are welcome to sign up for practice time during our discounted open studio times on Thursdays from 12pm-4pm and Fridays from 5pm-9pm.
