ABOUT OUR YOUTH EDUCATION PROGRAM

We’ve been blessed to receive a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts over the past 7 years and have provided schools, youth organizations, and adults with disabilities glass art programming at little to no cost to the participants.

Through the lifespan of our Youth Education Program, SGS has served over 5,500 students from 45 different groups. The populations we serve primarily consist of students from from low-income households and of minority backgrounds.

THE CHALLENGE

Sonoran Glass School was recently notified that we will not be receiving another grant from the NEA for our Youth Education Program due to government cuts to arts funding. The loss of this grant, at $25,000 and 80% of the program’s revenue, is devastating for our Youth Education Program.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE TODAY

Help us build on this momentum. Reaching our goal means hundreds of students from underserved communities can be inspired by the wonder of glass art, through projects, teamwork, and public art installations.
