Learn the quick and fun process of pot melts. In this class you will get to learn the basic techniques in making an organic piece of glass through the use of terracotta pots and heat. A pot melt can then be kept as an artistic piece or cut up and used as a focal element in a future project. No prior glass experience required!
Techniques you will learn:
-Setting up a terracotta pot for a melt
-Specific kiln scheduling for pot melts
-Cleaning glass through cold working
-The process of slumping or using glass for future projects
Projects made in the class:
-1 6in. to 10in. round glass pot melt (per student)
Glass material fees are not included in class prices above. Glass is available for purchase at SGS with a 20% discount for students enrolled in the class. Tools and equipment are included in class. No prior glass experience needed for this class.
