With 2018 coming to an end, the fusing studio has one last wish during this holiday season… a vitrigraph kiln!
What is a vitrigraph kiln? A vitrigraph kiln is a specific type of kiln that can quickly and effectively heat glass to a molten enough temperature to allow users to pull their own glass canes. The kiln is made with a hole in the base to allow the glass to flow through the bottom of the kiln while a human controls the pull of the cane.
The specific kiln we are looking at is one of the best and largest vitrigraph kilns on the market (Jen-Ken Kiln – AF3P Vitrigraph). We are looking to raise around $700-$800 for this new kiln. Any money raised past that amount will go towards paying for the electrical setup and metal shelving unit for the kiln to sit on. Your generous gift will help us expand our fusing abilities and give our students a new tool to use in the studio they love!
