Scholarships

Types of Scholarships
The Philabaum Glassblowing Scholarship is named after glass artist and Sonoran Glass School co-founder Tom Philabaum. This scholarship will be awarded to an individual who has a serious interest in learning the art and craft of furnace glassblowing and who has a financial barrier that prevents him or her from pursuing an education in this glass art medium. The scholarship funds awarded to the recipient are to be used to take Sonoran Glass School’s most comprehensive semester glassblowing program. Up to $990 will be funded through this scholarship to the qualifying student or students.
We also have general scholarships applicable to other classes, summer camps, and workshops in order to make glass art more accessible to a diverse range of students. These are supported by donations and grant funding and are determined on a case-by-case basis. Scholarship amounts may vary based on funding and number of applicants. Students applying for a scholarship must fill out the application form and demonstrate a financial need that would be alleviated by receiving the scholarship.
