Fundamentals of Fused Glass
This exciting 4-week course is the perfect starting point for anyone curious about the captivating world of fused glass. No prior experience is necessary! You’ll learn the fundamentals of this ancient art form, from basic techniques to creative expression.
What to expect:
- Try out cutting tools such as pliers, nippers, the Morton system, circle cutter
- Learn about the difference in COEs of fused glass and explore the various types of glass available (sheet glass, frit, stringers, paint)
- Discuss different kiln firing types, how to prepare a kiln, and using a firing schedule
- Investigate slumping and 3D possibilities
All materials and tools will be provided.
This class will meet 1-4pm on March 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th.
