Cold Shop
In a cold shop, artists use various tools and techniques to finish, refine, and sometimes even create new works of art from glass. A cold shop is worked on after it has cooled and solidified. This is in contrast to a hot shop, where glass is worked on while it is molten.
Cold Shop Equipment
Our Cold Shop features a belt sander (4″ x 106″), single arbor grinding lathe, two lap wheels (20″ and 24″), wet saws, ring saws, large sandblaster, and small engraving tools.
Cold Shop Rentals
In order to use the equipment in the cold shop, all students must have an active certification. Certifications are awarded with the completion of the cold shop orientation classes, offered each semester.
