What’s Past is Prologue workshop with Marc Barreda
January 25-29th, 9am-5pm
We hesitate to look back. Is it the curse of Orpheus and Euridice or the drive of the innovator? But, can we learn from the past? The Romans invented glassblowing and mastered it in less than a century. Medieval glassmakers disrupted the vessel wall and started to play with light.
Explore the techniques of our ancestors using glass during this 5 day workshop. You will learn methods and techniques of the past and play with how they can impact your contemporary glass styles, aesthetic, and techniques. Explore the tricks that upset the tradition in order to build upon it. Forge new avenues into making glass.
