Refining Form with Boyd Sugiki and Lisa Zerkowitz

Students will work in clear glass, focusing on tumblers, cylinders, bowls, forms with waists, and bottles, moving methodically from one shape to the next. Refining skills, improving heat control, building confidence, and surveying blowing theories will be covered. Instruction will be personalized to build on individual skills and one-on-one time will be given to help find simple solutions to common struggles. Each day will begin with lecture and demonstration, followed by independent blow slots where teams will rotate daily to underscore the value of teamwork and collaboration. Two years of glassblowing and a strong foundation of knowledge is required or an equivalent level of experience.
