Virgil was born in Indiana and grew up surrounded by the arts, originally studying dancing and ice skating. Although he has only been working with glass since the Spring of 2014 (at Soverow Glass in B’ham, AL) Virgil showed great potential as a glassblower, and was invited to assist during Visiting Artist Josh DeWall’s Faster, Thinner, Better workshop, held at SGS in 2015.
Virgil was promoted to Director of our Warm Shop in January of 2018, where he now teaches techniques in fused and slumped glass.
